Garrett Lacy is a St. Louis native percussionist, composer, and educator. After graduating from Ritenour High School, Garrett went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Entrepreneurship from Webster University in 2013. He currently works as a tutor through the National Tutoring Association, music teacher at School of Rock, and plans to attend graduate school to study Film Scoring. Garrett joined Freedom Arts as a teaching artist in 2017 and facilitates several Art & Academic Workshops, including African Percussion, Street Drumming, Musicology, Black Music International, and Literary Movement. When Garrett isn’t creating his own works or teaching the next generation to do the same, he’s either reading, running, or drinking tea.
