Jay-Marie Hill is a sought after musician, educator and "creative mind asking the questions that will shape the future of culture.” A Bay Area born, St. Louis based Black & Boricua award-winning artist, Jay-Marie has worked at high levels in the arts, education, and policy sectors for over 20 years. Most recently, they founded a collective called Black Transcendence which focuses on expanding trans-affirming policies and embodying possibility for all through Black Trans perspectives on body, mind, and spirit. From biking, to music, to advocacy, they leave a long trail of strong projects reclaiming the power of spirit in community. Jay-Marie has been working with Freedom Arts since 2017 as a performing and teaching artist. They bring their years of experience and energy in the arts, education, and organizing to the team as well as their natural, unparalleled ability to engage and connect with youth of all ages.
