Lucy Grimshaw is an advocate, researcher, and leader deeply committed to dismantling systemic oppression at the intersections of race, poverty, and mental health. A dual-degree graduate in Public Policy and Social Work from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, Lucy was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Master of Research in Criminology at the University of Manchester in England. Her work critiques the criminal justice system and media portrayals of marginalized communities, employing abolitionist frameworks to humanize those most impacted by systemic injustice. She has worked for several grassroots organizations in St. Louis, a few of which are partner orgs of Freedom Arts. Lucy joined the Board of Freedom Arts & Education Center in February 2025 with a focus on supporting the Debt Free Justice campaign.
