Maya Foster
Teaching Artist
Maya Foster is a St. Louis native singer, rapper, DJ, and model. After graduating from University City High School, Maya immersed herself in the world of musical theater before shifting her focus to music performance in 2015. She quickly became an in-demand singer throughout St. Louis backing up several major artists, headlining with her own band, and opening for international stars such as Jason Derulo, Nelly, Ashanti, & Melanie Fiona. In 2020, she started studying under various professional DJs and is now a standout DJ on the scene in St. Louis. Maya started working with Freedom Arts in 2021 by performing at the annual Expo. In 2022, she joined the team as a teaching artist working primarily on literacy and art with the elementary school students and DJing at events alongside Prospect. She naturally inspires the youth to express themselves and chase their dreams.
