Prospect

Teaching Artist

Eric “Prospect” White is a teaching, performing, and recording artist whose creative hustle and advocacy for youth makes him one of the most in-demand facilitators in St. Louis. Having been a Teaching Artist for Freedom Arts since 2015, Prospect mentors the youth and facilitates music, creative writing, and multiple educational workshops and classes. He serves as one of the resident DJs and assists with organizing and executing community events. He also works as an Interrupter with Cure Violence in Dutchtown. As a performing and recording artist, Prospect blends poignant subject matter with an intelligent, calculated word play, creating a kinetic and visceral experience for all who listen. He is co-founder of  Cherokee Street Reach, co-founder of St. Louis Reclamation Arts Project, host and curator of Regional Arts Commission’s “With Not For” exhibit, musical and visual artist for Slumfest, and the founder of Out Hrr Events! He is a 2014 graduate of Regional Arts Commission’s Community Arts Training Institute. Deeply focused and creative, youth and fellow artists embrace Prospect’s consistency and unflinching dedication to truly being “out hrr,” showing up for the youth and reclaiming power for his community.
